870,716. Motor-driving; arrangements. BEASLEY FRENCH & CO. Ltd. Jan. 7, 1960 [Jan. 19, 1959], No. 1948/59. Class 35. [Also in Group XVI] A plurality of rotary shafts 20, 22, rotatably carried in a rotary frame 15 in turn rotatably carried in a stationary housing 11, are driven via respective drive transmission means 27, 30 and drive shafts 24, 25 by respective electric motors 34, 35 carried in fixed positions by the housing 11. As shown, the transmission means comprises idler gear trains rotatable on arms 16, 17 of the frame 15 which is carried by bearings 12 in the housing 11. The frame 15 is rotated by its own electric motor 18 via gearing 19. The invention is applicable to driving paper reels 21, 23 feeding a web into a printing machine.
