Abstract
870,466. Supporting operating lights. QUARZLAMPEN G.m.b.H. April 23, 1958 [April 23, 1957], No. 12886/58. Classes 75(3) and 75(4). A light for illuminating operations comprises a casing supported by two horizontal or slightly inclined arms, one of which is fastened at one end to the ceiling by a pivot link for rotation about a vertical axis and at the other end to the second arm so that the latter can be rotated about a vertical axis, the lamp casing being carried in cantilever fashion at the opposite end of the second arm. A third arm may be interposed between the first two arms and connected thereto at opposite ends for rotation about vertical axes. The lamp casing may be carried between the forked ends of the cantilever arm so as to be pivotal about a horizontal axis. In the form shown, the arm 3 is pivoted on a pivot 2 on the ceiling and connected at its outer end to a second arm 5 by a vertical pivot 4, the outer end of the arm 5 being connected by a vertical pivot 6 to third arm 13 carrying at its opposite end a horizontally pivoted sleeve 9. The lamp casing 7 is carried on horizontal pivots between the prongs 8 of a fork, the stem of the fork being mounted in the sleeve 9 so that it can be rotated about the axis of the sleeve. The sleeve 9 carries operating handles 10, 12. The casing contains six lamps arranged in a circle with a seventh in the centre.
