Abstract
772,640. Mounting lamp globes. WILSON, B. A., and McCORMACK, D. C. April 19, 1955, No. 11198/55. Class 75(2) A lamp globe holder comprises a support 1 having a plurality of fingers such as 7, 8, 9 projecting downwardly and outwardly therefrom for engaging the inner surface of a globe 11, at least one, viz 9, of the fingers being pivotable about a vertical axis as on a bolt 6 by a lever arm 10a swingable outwardly beyond the periphery of the support 1 to pivot the finger 9 inwardly, and a locking sleeve 5 around the support and slidable downwardly thereon over the lever arm to prevent this latter swinging outwardly and thus to hold the finger 9 in engageriient with the globe. When the arm 9 is swung outwardly, the sleeve 5 in its upper position rests on the arm and when the arm is in its inward position its end is adjacent the periphery of the support. The fingers are mounted on the horizontal base 2 of a cylindrical support and the lever arm 10a extends horizontally below the base 2,. this latter carrying an electric lamp bulb holder 4 and having holes for the passage of screws to secure the support, e.g. to a ceiling.
