Abstract

589,797. Mounting reflectors. SCHWARZMAYR, L. April 10, 1945, No. 8906. [Class 75 (ii)] [Also in Group XXIII] An illumination unit comprises a globe 5, Fig. 2, above a light source 4 and a reflector 10 with supporting means 13 engaging the globe firmly adjacent to its major circle 13a but movable upwardly away from the major circle to a loosely slidable position 13b, this supporting means being also movable from the loosely slidable position towards the major circle of the globe. To loosen the reflector, the rim 18 of the reflector may be engaged from underneath by a hollow 16 in a reflector adjusting tool, Fig. 4. After adjustment to the new position, the supporting means may be brought into tight contact with the globe slightly above its major circle by the hook 17 engaging the upturned rim from above. The globe 5 is rigidly supported from the ceiling by a conduit 2 and is rotatable between collars 8 and 9 on a vertical axis, the reflector being thus adjustable to any position about the light source by a horizontal force applied to the reflector to rotate the globe.
