Abstract

680,043. Supporting lamp globes. MORLEY & CO., Ltd., T. B., and FLEMING, N. June 19, 1951 [June 7, 1950], No. 14177/50. Class 75(ii) A support for a globe (not shown) comprises two parallel strips 5, 6 connected to a centrally pivoted link 3 and adapted to be moved by a handle 8 in opposite directions so that the tips of the strips engage with the rim of the globe. The link is pivoted at the centre of a dish-shaped member 1 fixed to the ceiling and provided with parallel channels in which the strips are slidably disposed and with apertures in its side wall through which the tips of the strips pass. Pins 7 in the strips engage slots 4 in the link. The strips are preferably made of a springy material. The handle 8 is formed by an extension of one of the strips. A safety catch may be provided.
