Abstract

869,798. Endless-belt conveyers. MATTHEW HALL & CO Ltd. July 15, 1958, No. 22687/58. Class 78 (1). A troughed belt conveyer is caused to assume a flat, or substantially flat, condition at the point of discharge in order that the material may be directed over the sides of the belt by a plough. A rectangular frame 25 with a flat top 25<SP>1</SP> is mounted below the belt and is supported at each end by pairs of arms 30, 31. The lower ends of the arms are pivoted to fixed supports and the upper ends are pivoted to the ends of oppositely-acting rams 36 of hydraulic cylinders 37. When pressure liquid is admitted to the cylinders, the table is raised into contact with the lower side of the belt and the latter assumes the flat position. Rollers 27, 28 mounted at the - ends of the table direct the belt. The plough consists of two horizontal bars 3 which are mounted to swing about a vertical axis 5 and can be adjusted vertically. Each bar is connected by a link 21. to a toothed rack 15 which is movable longitudinally by turning the hand wheel 20.
