869,707. Partitions for boxes. RANDALL, J. E., and FRANKENSCHWERTH. K. Oct. 16, 1959 [Oct. 29, 1958], No. 34735/58. Class 18. Pigeon-hole compartments are formed of two series of interengaging slotted panels, one set 10 having closed ended slots 12 and the other set comprising members 13 each slotted at one edge 14 and one or more unslotted intermediate members 15. This arrangement provides a rigid structure, which may be 6 feet long, and may be made of wood, hardboard, plywood, metal, a synthetic plastic, or cardboard. If the slots 12 are replaced by an upper and lower series of slots then two sets of the members 13 and 15 are provided. The compartments are enclosed by side walls 21 and end walls 22 of sheet metal. Angle pieces 19, 20 form a rectangular frame, the pieces 19 engaging end slots 14. The walls 21 are bent over at their top and bottom edges and rest on the pieces 19 ; the ends 22 are bent to tray form and rest on the pieces 20. Members 23 secure the ends to the sides and the angle pieces. A back plate is screwed to the bent up edges of the sides and ends 21, 22. A removable front wall may be fitted or each compartment may be closed by a member fitting into the mouth thereof.
