869,479. Venting. GILBEY Ltd., W. & A., and P. A. PERMUTA (PLASTICS) Ltd. Nov. 26, 1959 [Nov. 28, 1958], No. 38463/58. Classes 21 and 125(3). A vent fitting for a container 1 comprises a disc 6 with tubular stems 7, 8 extending concentrically from opposite faces, and a screw cap 5 on the stem 8, the screw threads being a loose fit or provided with an axial groove to permit air to enter the container when the cap is partially unscrewed. The vent can be closed by screwing the cap down on to a seating washer 13. The fitting may be of synthetic resin and may have a cork 10 on the stem 7. The screw thread on the stem 8 may be such that an electric lamp holder can be screwed thereon.
