869,438. Ampoules. NOVO TERAPEUTISK LABORATORIUM AIS. Oct. 15, 1959 [Oct. 17, 1958], No. 35019/59. Class 81 (2). An ampoule has at its open discharge end a member, shaped to receive a cannula, which projects from a piercible cover, a tube mounted in a passage in the projecting member being displaced inwardly on attachment of the cannula. As shown, Fig. 1, a rubber cover 4 and a flange 6 on a frusto-conical neck 5 are retained on an ampoule 1 by a clamping-ring 7. A tube 10 with a cutting-edge 11 is mounted in and extends beyond a channel 9 in the neck. A cap 12 may be placed over the neck and tube until the ampoule is used. In use, the cap is removed and the socket of a cannula placed on the neck 5, abutment of the tube 10 against the-rear end of the cannula or the interior of the socket causing the edge 11 to pierce the disc 4. Luerlock and Record cannulµ may be used and the ampoule may be collapsible or piston-operated.
