Abstract
868,637. Doors for railway wagons. SOC. NOUVELLE DES ATELIERS DE VENISSIEUX. June 19, 1959 [Dec. 18, 1958], No. 21103/59. Class 103(4). A covered railway goods wagon with access over its whole length, comprises two groups of doors 6, 8, 10 and 7, 9, 11, Figs. 1 and 2 supported by adjacent upper slide tracks 15, 16 and adjacent lower roller tracks 12, 13 the doors as a whole being movable angularly by lateral displacement of the lower tracks 12, 13 which are carried by a flat iron member 23 having a plurality of carriages each movable on a laterally extending track 27, Fig. 4, secured to side plates 28 of brackets 29 on the vehicle chassis. Each carriage comprises a yoke 24 attached to the member 23 and carrying a pair of rollers 26 on pins 25. A pin 30 extends from each side of the yoke 24. The pins 30 engage in slots 31 in the side plates 28, carried by the bracket 29, and between which the roller track 27 is welded. The pins also engage in the forked ends of links 33 rotatable with a shaft 36 carried by the bracket 29 and operable by a hand lever. 40 Fig. 1, having a locking device 41. The doors 6, 8, 10 have guide rollers 22 engaging in the lower track 12 whilst the doors 7, 9, 11 have running rollers 14 engaging the lower track 13. Each door has a pair of spaced lugs 46 which in the closed position of the door engage with a bolt 47 on the vehicle frame. To open the doors they must first be tilted by the lever 40 to release the lugs 46 from the bolts 47 and thereafter slid along the tracks 12, 13, 15 and 16.
