Abstract

868,345. Valves. DAIMLEH-BENZ A.G. July 24, 1959 [July 26, 1958]. No. 25526/59. Class 135. [Also in Group XIII] A valve actuated by a fluid thermal element 29 in an internal-combustion engine cooling system (see Group XIII) acts when valve piston 28 is in the position shown, to permit independent flow between oil lines 18 A, 18B and 21A, 21B, respectively. As the piston rises oil flow is permitted between oil lines 18 A, 21A by way of a port 27 in the piston, oil lines 18B, 21B being ultimately closed by the piston. Lowering of the piston below the position shown gradually closes the oil lines 18A, 18B.
