Abstract

The invention comprises a dye of formula:- <FORM:0868143/IV(c)/1> which may be made by diazotizing an appropriate chloraniline and coupling with the required tertiary amine. The dye colours fibres or fabrics of cellulose ethers or esters, cellulose acetate artificial silk, cellulose triacetate and polyester fibres, superpoly-urethanes and -amides and polyacrylonitrile fibres. The dyes are of especial use for ester, particularly polyethylene terephthalate, fibres. Examples are provided of the preparation of the dye and its use in dyeing processes, orange tints being obtained. Specification 722,474 is referred to.
