867,971. Burners. ESSO RESEARCH & ENGINEERING CO. Dec. 4, 1959 [Jan. 27, 1959], No. 2893/59. Class 75(1). The air supply to a pot vaporizer burner is controlled by a bimetallic strip 1 connected between a heat exchanger 2 and a slotted slidable member 3 moving over a similarly slotted fixed member 4. When the temperature of the heat exchanger 2 rises, the bimetallic strip 1 expands to slide member 3 over member 4 to increase the registration of the slots and thus the air supply. When the heat exchanger cools, the bimetallic strip reduces slot registration. In an embodiment, the slotted members are disposed in the air space between the burner pots of the sleeve at right angles to the axis of the burner.
