901,320. Temperature-responsive actuating- elements. GAS COUNCIL. Feb. 17, 1961 [March 8, 1960], No. 8186/60. Class 64 (2). [Also in Group XXIX] A rod 8 of the material known by the (Registered Trade Mark) " Invar " is joined to a brass tube 10 and abuts a member 14 in screwthreaded engagement with a valve 5 (see Group XXIX) throttling the gas supply to an oven to keep the temperature constant. The controlled temperature may be altered by turning a knob on a spigot 11 keyed to the member 14, the valve 5 having webs 15 which engage slots 21 to hold it against rotation during adjustment.
