Abstract

866,664. Subaqueous structures. FAGERLUND, S. O. H. Jan. 1, 1960 [Feb. 9, 1959], No. 52/60. Class 68(2). A subaqueous foundation is formed by lowering a hollow base 10<SP>1</SP>, 10<SP>11</SP>, 12, 13 on to a sea bed 9, levelling the base, emptying sand 31 into the base, emptying concrete mix on to the sand to bind it and form a concrete base, and pumping out the water from the base. The base is levelled by means of screws 18 which pass through reinforcement bands 14, 15 to engage the sea bed. When the base is levelled it is fixed by anchors 19 which also pass through the bands. After the water is pumped from the base further anchors 34 are driven through the concrete base into the bed, and the super-structure is erected on the base.
