Abstract

865,531. Collecting oil from bearings. GLACIER METAL CO. Ltd. March 18, 1959 [March 19, 1958], No. 8872/58. Class 12 (1). Oil discharged from the end of a cylindrical journal bearing 1 is guided by a curved surface 5 into an annular collecting member 7 provided with an oil discharge hole 8. In a modification, a curved surface 13, Fig. 2, is provided on an extension part 11, preferably of nylon, located between the end of a bearing 9 and a collecting member 7. In a further modification, an annular collecting member 14, Fig. 3, is provided with a semi-cylindrical shield 16 surrounding the upper half of the shaft.
