Abstract

869,358. Bearings. GLACIER METAL CO. Ltd. June 3, 1959 [June 5, 1958], No. 18036/58. Class 12 (1). A semi-cylindrical bearing shell has a circumferentially-extending oil-distributing groove comprising slots G, G<SP>1</SP>, G<SP>2</SP> which extend completely through the shell, the slots being separated by lands J of less radial thickness than the shell. The total circumferential length of the slots is at least half the circumferential length of the shell. Oil is supplied to the slot G through a passage E<SP>1</SP> in the housing E.
