Abstract

864,806. Transistor amplifier circuits. COMPAGNIE FRANCAISE THOMSON-HOUSTON. June 24, 1959 [June 24, 1958], No. 21696/59. Class 40(6) A transistor amplifier comprises an emitter follower stage feeding a push-pull stage through a transformer having a low leakage inductance, negative feedback being applied from the pushpull stage to an earlier stage. The Figure shows a common emitter input stage 12, feeding an emitter follower stage 15 which in turn feeds a push-pull output stage 17 through a bifilarly wound low leakage inductance transformer. The combinations of the emitter follower stage and the transformer can be made to have a low phase shift so that negative feedback can be applied through 25 to stage 13. In addition, as the output stage is driven from a voltage source rather than a current source, a more linear operation is obtained.
