Abstract

864,586. Inflatable craft. LATIMERNEEDHAM, C. H. Oct. 29, 1959 [Oct. 30, 1958], No. 34768/58. Class 113. An inflatable lifecraft is provided with a boarding ladder and a canopy. The rungs 4 of the ladder are braced by tension members 5 connected to the outer ends of booms 1 which extend from the buoyancy tube 2. An additional member 6 extending from the boom 1 to the top of the tube 2 also serves as a handrail. The rungs 4:may be weighted and the members 5 and 6 may be replaced by continuous sheet of material. The canopy 7 is supported by struts 8 which are secured to the buoyancy tube 2 in sockets 9. The struts may comprise more than one section or may be telescopic. The control strut 11 may be shortened to provide a water catchment area in the canopy. The struts 8 may be secured in spigots 10.
