Abstract

1,164,908. Building with cantilever roofs; folding roofs. F. BRELL. 10 April, 1967 [8 July, 1966], No. 1634l/67. Headings E1A and E1W. A collapsible building suitable for use in fairgrounds or as a garage or pavilion has a cantilever roof structure including a bridge member 1 which is mounted on a base 5 by hydraulically-operated telescopic struts 3, 4 and has side trusses 6, 7, 8 pivotally connected thereto for folding into operative and transporting positions, see Fig. 9 (not shown). The trusses support an awning and are releasably interconnected by struts 12 and wire ropes 15. The building may also be provided with a canopy and auxiliary uprights serving as drains. A plurality of roof structures, each supported by a pair of central struts 3, and anchored at one end to trestles may be interconnected at their other ends in abutting relationship or in louvre-fashion, see Figs. 12 and 13 (not shown) respectively.
