Abstract

Cast molybdenum alloys having high strength at elevated temperatures contain in percentage by weight: Hf 0.02-12, C 0.01-0.75, Ti 0-5, Zr 0-1, O2 *?* 0.005, W 0-Mo content, Mo balance. The alloys may be prepared by arc-melting in a vacuum, carbon being added in sufficient quantity to react with any oxygen in the raw materials and to leave the desired proportion in the alloy.
