Abstract

An alloy consists of (1) 25,1 to 98% Nb, and optionally up to 30% Td or (2) 10,1 to 98% Ab and up to 30% Td, the sum of the Nb and Td in each case not exceeding 98% and the remainder being Ni and Cr in a ratio ranging from 2 : 1 to 6 : 1. The alloy may also contain up to 5% in total of one or more of the elements Th, Ce, La, Zr, Hf or Al, the Al not exceeding 1%. Ce and Ld may be associated with other rare-earth metals within the total of 5%. According to the Provisional Specification the alloy is as for composition (1) but with 10,1 to 98% Nb.
