863,131. Automatic voltage control systems. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. May 15, 1959 [May 22, 1958], No. 16427/58. Class 38 (4). In an automatic voltage control system the impedance of a transductor TDRM, controlling the current through a rectifier RM to a load, is varied by a winding CM energized through transductors TDR1, TDR2 in parallel. A signal, dependent on the load voltage, through a winding VC varies the impedance of the transductor TDR1 so as to cause a current to flow in the winding CM tending to maintain the load voltage constant. The load current is limited by a signal, dependent on the load current, through a winding CC causing the transductor TDR2 to present a low impedance across transductor TDR1 at a predetermined current. The transductors are biased by reference windings RFC1, RFC2, RFCM. Specification 665,335 is referred to.
