Abstract
862,363. Bimetallic element made from ferrous alloys. SOC. METALLURGIQUE D'IMPHY. Dec. 1, 1959 [Dec. 4, 1958], No. 40758/59. Class 82(1) A rustless, refractory bimetallic element, with proportional deflection utilizable up to 650‹C., is formed from two ferrous alloys characterized by the following compositions by weight: (a) a less expansive alloy containing Cr 18 to 25%, Cu 0.3 to 2.5%, with or without C 0 to 0.8%, Si 0 to 1%, Ni 0 to 1%, Mn 0 to 1.5%, and Fe, with impurities, the balance; (b) a more expansive alloy containing Ni 40 to 50%, Cr 17 to 28%, with or without C 0 to 0.5%, Mn 0 to 1.5%, Si 0.5 to 3%, and Fe, with impurities, the balance. The strip may be annealed at a temperature of 650‹ to 700‹C. for at least ¢ hour.
