Abstract

861,816. Pile anchors. KONDRATSKY, N. March 31, 1958 [June 4, 1957], No. 10290/58. Class 68(2). A device for increasing the load bearing capacity of a pile comprises. a base plate 2 and 21 and at least one bracket 4. The part 2 of the baseplate is secured to a pile 1 and while the pile is being driven the device occupies the position shown in Fig. 1. When the pile reaches the required depth the bracket 4 is pulled by a bar 6 engaged in a notch 5 and the lower part of the device hinges about the thin section 3 to the position shown in Fig. 2. The slot 5 is now directed upwardly and the bar 6 may be removed. An upward force on the pile may be resisted by leaving the rod 6 attached to the bracket and anchoring the remote end.
