860,938. Loud-speakers. BRITISH BROADCASTING CORPORATION. Oct. 1, 1958 [Oct. 1, 1957], No. 30741/57. Class 40 (4). Two moving-coil loudspeakers 10 and 11 are mounted coaxially and are fed by the same source of signals over a bass boost circuit but are connected so that their diaphragms work in opposition. The distance between the diaphragms is preferably less than the diameter of a diaphragm. The arrangement is said to be highly directional and of use in a two-way transmission circuit where coupling between loud-speaker and microphone at a station is a disadvantage and the microphone may be placed outside the beam of the loud-speaker.
