Classes 52(2) and 52(3) A seat mounted on castors is connected for limited movement with the floor by a castor carrying extension 6A passing through a hole in a plate 15 fixed or pivoted about a vertical axis to the floor. Guide rollers 12, 13 ensure that the extension 6A runs smoothly through the plate 15 as the seat is moved away from or towards a desk or table under which it may be stowed when the back rest 2 is folded flat. Stem 3 slides telescopically in a central member of stand 4 and screw 16 locks the seat at the adjusted height. The seat 1 may be in screw-threaded engagement with stem 3 to provide an additional height adjustment.
