860,519. Swaging-machines. STEVENS & BULLIVANT Ltd. Aug. 17, 1959 [Aug. 20, 1958], No. 26716/58. Class 83 (4). A swaging machine has a stationary head c with radially moving hammer-blocks d having at their outer ends enlargements d<SP>2</SP> on which act compression springs e at their inner ends. The blocks are driven by a rotary flywheel a carrying interposed rollers b. Alternate rollers are grooved and the plain and grooved rollers each actuate only one pair of blocks whereby the pairs are moved alternately. The inclined faces d<SP>5</SP> of the hammers d<SP>1</SP> assist in retracting the hammers. The machine is of particular use in shaping chisel ends.
