1380867 Tube-rolling mills ELEKTROSTALSKY ZAVOD TYAZHELOGO MASHINOSTROENIA 27 March 1973 14751/73 Heading B3M A pilger cold rolling mill includes a pair of work rolls 8 and backing rolls 9 which are carried in a support 7, the support being reciprocated within a housing 5, and the housing being simultaneously reciprocated along a fixed base 4. The rolls 9 are rotated by frictional contact with bars 6 in the housing as the support is moved. Respective connecting rods 14 and 15 reciprocate the support and housing, the cranks 2 and 3 of the rods being offset by 90 degrees on a common driving shaft 10. The weights and strokes of the reciprocating parts are chosen to equalize the inertia loads acting on the shaft 10.
