Class 120(2) In a drafting apparatus the top rollers 19, 20 21, each comprising a single boss, are supported resiliently on a single arm. As shown in Figs. 1, 3, each roller is carried by a bearing with inner race 24 attached to the loop spring end 231 of a sheet-metal pressing 23 which forms a cradle for a block 22 located on the arm 10 by a set-screw 26. The roller weighting is determined by the angular adjustment of the block 22 on the arm 10. Top roller clearers may be mounted in clips 28 held by the set-screws 26. The arm 10 is pivoted at 12 on a fixed U-shaped bracket 11 carrying a spring with limbs 15, 16, which bear against the arm 10 and the arm 17 of a rotatable locking lever 18 respectively. A notched rib 181 of the lever 18 engages a slot in the arm 10 to lock it in operative position. Rotation of the lever 18 disengages the rib 181 and applies pressure through the spring 15, 16 to raise the arm. The roller 20 carries a conventional upper drafting apron. In a second embodiment, Fig. 7, the arm 30, which is of square cross-section is splined in a plate 31 which is clamped to a fixed bracket 34 slotted to permit adjustment of the arm 30 about its axis for simultaneous adjustment of all the top rollers. The end of the arm 30 is recessed to receive a bearing stud 25. In a further embodiment, not shown, the angular position of the arm 30 is located by a pawl and ratchet device.
