Abstract
827,496. Textile drafting mechanism. SKF KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN G.m.b.H. March 12, 1958 [March 15, 1957], No. 7994/58. Class 120(2) A locking device in a drafting mechanism comprises a spring-loaded catch 9, pivotally mounted in a carrier arm 4 for top rolls 5, and a detent member 15, pivotally mounted in a fixed bracket 2 carrying the arm; when the arm 4 is swung downwards from its operative position a tooth 9b of the latch 9 disengages a locating nick 13 of the member 15 and when the arm 4 is swung into its upper position the member 15 is turned by the latch 9 so that when the arm 4 returns to the operative position the member 15 again engages the latch 9. The member 15 may be adjustably positioned between limit stops 17 by means of a handle 18 and is restrained against free motion by its inherent resilience or by additional springs. The latch 9 is loaded against motion in both directions by a spring 11. After the arm 4 has been unlocked, it need not be swung up into its inoperative position in order to be locked again. In a modification, Fig. 3, a latch 23, loaded by a leaf spring 24, co-operates with a detent member 26 to position a locating shoulder 27 for subsequent engagement with a tooth 30.
