Abstract

860,217. Injection-moulding machines. WUCHER, R. Nov. 18, 1959 [Dec. 22, 1958], No. 41273/58. Addition to 831,192. Class 87(2). Apparatus of the type described in the parent Specification comprises a non-return valve member of piston form slidable in the injection cylinder and mounted for rotational and limited axial movement on the screw ; at least one spring piston ring on the valve member engaging the cylinder to resist or oppose rotation of the member in the bore. A piston vave 4 is mounted on section 8 of a bolt which is screwed into the end of the screw 2, and is provided with a tapered surface 10 which engages a seating surface 3 on the screw 2 during the axial injection movement of the screw or the cylinder 1. The piston 4 is forced by the screw pressure to move axially to allow material to flow through passage 13 and flared diffusion holes 11 during the feed of material to the forward end of the cylinder. Piston rings 14 are provided in members 4 and a nozzle valve 17 is provided.
