Abstract

1,208,387. Injection moulding. DRYMIT S.A. 9 Nov. 1967 [10 March, 1967], No. 19875/69. Divided out of 1,207,329. Heading B5A. An injection mould for encapsulating, in plastics material, an article 15, such as an electromagnet with a central passage therethrough, is in two parts 30, 31 providing a cavity 32 with an injection nozzle 33. The article is placed on a stationary core 34 around which is slidably located a sleeve 36 and when the mould parts are brought together one end of the article rests on a collar 39 and the other end is spaced from the adjacent end of the mould cavity by abutments 40. The injected material first flows about the core and forces the sleeve upwardly to provide a coating on the central passage wall before flowing about its exterior. To provide a coating on that part of the article contacting the collar 39 the latter may comprise the end of a separate sleeve, Fig. 2, not shown, urged upwardly by a spring (41) against the article and forced downwardly away from the article by the pressure of moulding material.
