Abstract
956,097. Injection moulding. HONDA GIKEN KOGYO KABUSHIKI KAISHA. July 23, 1962 [Aug. 7, 1961], No. 28294/62. Heading B5A. An injection mould has a runner 9 leading from an injection nozzle 12 to a gate which consists of a block 13 with a large diameter bore at the upper end and a small diameter channel 14 at the lower end leading into a die cavity. At the upper end of the channel 14 is an annular knife edge formed between the inner surface of channel 14 and a sloping surface 19a. There is also around the upper end of the channel 14 an annular recess 19 formed in the block 13, which recess holds molten material to heat the material in the channel 14 which cools as the material in the die cavity cools.
