Abstract

1335824 Injection moulding machines STRODE COMPONENTS Ltd 26 Nov 1970 [3 Dec 1969] 59130/69 Heading B5A An axially reciprocable injection moulding screw has a non-return valve at its forward end, the valve comprising a cylindrical sleeve 5 which is a close fit within the injection chamber and a loose fit on a non-threaded part 6 of the screw shaft, co-operating sealing surfaces 11, 12 on the ' shaft and sleeve, and two or more pegs 8 projecting from the shaft to limit the forward movement of the sleeve, each peg having a freerunning bearing bush 9 thereon to bear against the forward rim 10 of the sleeve or a washer or ring thereon. The pegs 8 may be constituted by a single pin extending through a transverse bore in the shaft.
