A dry shaver head B is mounted on the handle A so as to be movable away from therefrom to disconnect the drive means which is positionedlaterally of an imperforate hair-retaining partition 36 between the head and the handle. Individually removable shearing units d, d<SP>1</SP> and d<SP>11</SP> are screwed to a spring-urged frame 41 hinged to a side of the tray-like partition 36 and held by a spring- actuated catch 56 in closed position for operative engagement of the head 92 of a post, oscillated by a shaft 7<SP>1</SP> from the motor, with a vibrator 79 which has stems f each of which reciprocates an inner cutting member of a shearing unit. Each inner cutting member is spring-urged towards the co-operating outer cutting member and has an imperforate floor r, cut hair dropping from the ends of the floor through grooves in the bases 65 of the outer cutting member into the tray 36. In a modification the shaver head is slidably secured to the handle the stern structure being operatively connected to oscillated posts at each side of the shaver head.
