Abstract

859,016. Photographic papers. KODAK Ltd. Jan. 6, 1958 [Jan. 7, 1957], No. 529/58. Class 98(2) A dry stripping gelatine silver halide emulsion layer is temporarily carried on the surface of a paper support which has been treated with a solution of a Werner complex in which a trivalent nuclear chromium atom is co-ordinated with a carboxylic acido group having at least ten carbon atoms. Preferably, stearato chromium chloride is used. Palmitato, laurato, abietato complexes are referred to. The paper may be prepared from a furnish including wood pulp, aluminium stearate, gelatin and starch or rosin size. Before coating with the Werner complex solution, the paper may be tub-sized with gelatine or starch. The stripped emulsion is exposed and developed while adhering, for example, by means of cellulose ester dope, to a blank work-piece for which the developed image forms a template.
