Abstract
858,983. Threshing machines. WESTERASMASKINER A.B. Nov. 18, 1958 [Nov. 21, 1957], No. 37111/58. Class 6(3). A threshing machine is provided with a beater 7 located between the threshing cylinder 4 and the strawrack 15, the beater rotating in the opposite direction to the cylinder 4 and being partially surrounded on its upper side by an arcuate sieve 8 through which the grain can pass upwardly. The pass 10 between the beater and sieve is approximately tangential to the threshing cylinder so that the threshed product passes into it without change of direction. The radial width of the passage 10 is at least twice as great as the corresponding width of the passage 3 between the cylinder 4 and concave 5. The concave is extended by a portion 11 by which it is pivoted, at 11<SP>1</SP> on the machine frame. The straw-rack 15 has an upwardlyinclined extension 16 in the direction of the beater 7. The grain which passes through the sieve enters channels 17, 18 extending across the machine, these channels housing worm-conveyers 17a, 18a by which the grain is conveyed to ducts 19, 20, which feed a transverse duet 21 having a longitudinal slot 21<SP>1</SP> through which the grain falls on to the base 25 of the machine-casing. An endless scraperconveyer 50 propels it rearwardly to dressing apparatus 29 of conventional type, the conveyer forming the subject of Specification 858,984,
