Abstract

805,965. Threshing machines. WESTERASMASKINER A.B. June 27, 1956 [July 29, 1955], No. 19960/56. Class 6(3). In a threshing machine, the space between the threshing cylinder 1 and the straw-rack 3 is occupied by an auxilairy beater 4 and a screen 30 which forms an extension of the threshing concave 2, the beater having at least five blades. Endless aprons 5, 6 feed the crop to the cylinder 1, from which straw is swept rearwardly by the beater 4 while the grain gravitates on to a platform 17. The screen 30 comprises longitudinal wires and transverse bars, the wires being extended at 39 to bridge the gap between the beater and straw-rack 3. An imperforate portion 38 separates the screen 30 from the concave 2, and a plate 11 separates the beater from the threshing cylinder and prevents straw from being forced up between them. The beater comprises radial arms 25 carrying strips 26 extending parallel to the beater spindle 21, and acts as a centrifugal fan to blow air through the screen 30. The gap between the beater and screen is about 3.5 times the gap between the cylinder and concave. Specification 805,966 is referred to.
