Abstract

In a concave, for a threshing machine, which comprises parallel curved wires which pass perpendicularly through a series of parallel plates, the plates are shaped so that their inner edges extend radially, inwardly of the wires but their outer edges are each bent over at an obtuse angle to the remainder of the plate, so as to retard the material passing through the concave. The device is shown applied to a machine having two threshing chambers 13, 14 in series, the threshed products from both chambers passing into a common passage whence it falls into a winnowing chamber 10. Chaff is ejected by an auger 12.
