Abstract

1,143,465. Threshing machines. TEXAS INDUSTRIES Inc. 4 Aug., 1966 [11 Aug., 1965], No. 35057/66. Heading A1F. The straw-rack of a threshing machine comprises a fixed resiliently-mounted sieve 8 over which the straw is pushed by reciprocating rake-bars 18 with pendant tines 20, which are caused periodically to protrude through slots 31 in a screen 29, itself reciprocated longitudinally by a crankdisc 36 and pitman 35. The sieve 8 has up-turned side edges and is tilted downwardly at the front towards the threshing cylinder, where it is spring-mounted. The grain which passes through the concave and the front part of the sieve 8 falls on to an endless band (Fig. 1, not shown) which feeds it to a grain-pan 5 whence it falls to winnowing sieves 6.
