858,569. Steering vehicles by declutching and braking. SOC. AUXILIAIRE DE L'ENTREPRISE AUXEN. Jan. 2, 1959 [Jan. 9, 1958], No. 158/59. Class 79(2). In a tracked vehicle which is steered by declutching and braking through the operation of pairs of pneumatic cylinders 13, 16 Fig. 4 a control slide valve 18 is connected directly to the pneumatic system 17 for instantaneous declutching on one side and instantaneous release of the brake on the other side and is also connected to a progressive control valve 19 for gradual release of the brake on the declutched side. Shuttle valves 31, 32 open to connect the oposite brake and clutch cylinders 13, 16 and cut-off the supply to the clutch cylinders 13 on the side for which.the drive is to be maintained. The air lines 23, 24 &c. leading to the cylinders 13, 16 are connected through a rotary seal 30 in a vertical drive transmission shaft for the track sprockets
