857,846. Spin-driers. SCHARPF, O., SCHARPF, E., and SCHARPF, E., [trading as SCHARPF KOMMANDIT-GESELLSHAFT MASCHINENFABRIK GEB.]. Oct. 16, 1959 [Oct. 18, 1958], No. 35076/59. Class 34(2) An intermediate floor 15 of a spin-drier 12 has an aperture 17 into which a sleeve 18 is sealed to prevent escape of waste water, which sleeve has a floor 19 to which a bush 20 is secured to contain the bearings for a shaft 23, which at the upper end carries a basket 24 and which at the lower end projects below the bush to carry a pulley 25 for a V-belt 28 driven by a motor 30 also secured to the intermediate floor. The motor casing has upper and lower portions 31, 32, the lower portion being detachably secured to the floor and the stator of the motor is mounted on elastic rings 33, 34 which are non-rotatably inserted in recesses formed in the portions. An opening 47 in the floor gives access for waste water to a pump 40 secured to the bottom side of the floor, which pump has a pulley 53 driven by the V-belt 28, the water being discharged through a pipe 54. A counterweight (not shown), is secured to the floor diametrically opposite the motor, and braking means (not shown) may be mounted under the floor.
