Abstract

1,085,266. Spin driers. SOCIETE FIVES LILLE-CAIL. Feb. 18, 1965 [Feb. 19, 1964], No. 7034/65. Heading F4G. A spin drier comprises a basket 9 within a shell formed by a lower cylindrical portion 2 and an upper frusto-conical portion 4, the small base of which supports a bearing (not shown) and a drive motor 6 for a vertical shaft 8 which carries the basket at its lower end. An aperture 18 in the portion 4 is closable by a transparent door (not shown) which is supported by arms pivotally connected to the shell or supported on slideways fixed to the shell. Another aperture 26 in the portion 4 is provided for the passage of a charge trough 28 pivoted by a jack 30 and which seals the aperture in its raised position. A disc or drum brake 10 is mounted above the motor 6 to ant on the shaft 8 which is surmounted by a low-power motor 12 for lowspeed rotation utilizing a free-wheel device 14.
