Abstract

1446923 Centrifuging sugar MASCHINENFABRIK BUCKAU R WOLF AG 10 Sept 1973 [14 Sept 1972] 42541/73 Heading BID The sugar liquor supplied to screen wall 2 of a frusto-conical centrifugal drum by inlet 17 and accelerator cone 5 is heated, while being centrifuged, by air issuing from the bottom of cylinder 13, which air has been used in cooling the electric motor 7. The air is drawn in through adjustable opening 9 by fan 8 and heated during its passage over cooling fins 14. The motor 7 is supported on cover 18 of housing 1 by means of mounting 11 and buffers 12. The motor bearing 19 is preferably at the centre of gravity of the drum. The accelerator cone 5 is fixed to shaft 4 by blades 6.
