Abstract

1357695 Open end spindles WILHELM STAHLECKER GmbH 27 Jan 1972 [27 Jan 1971] 3896/72 Heading DID [Also in Division F1] In an open end spinning machine in which the rotor 1 operates under vacuum in a chamber 2 the rotor shaft 7 passes with clearance through the rear wall 11 of the chamber and a part is provided which rotates with the shaft to promote an outward air flow in the region at which the shaft passes through the chamber wall. The outward air flow may be promoted by centrifugal effects of frictionally entrained air, i.e. by the disc 13 of Fig. 1 or the cone 29 of Fig. 10. Alternatively a fan may be employed either integrally with the rotor, Fig. 29, separately mounted on the shaft, Fig. 23, mounted on extensions of bearing rollers, Fig. 15, or integral with such rollers, Fig. 21. Also a spiral fan blade 18 may be additionally or alternatively mounted on the shaft 7, Fig: 15. The fan may be mounted inside or outside the spring chamber, Figs. 23 and 21 or flush with the rear wall 11, Figs. 15 and 29. The rotor shaft 7 may be mounted for rotation in the nip of rollers, Figs. 15 and 21. (For Figures see next page)
