Abstract

856,433. Door operating appliances. WESTLAND ENGINEERS Ltd. Aug. 21, 1958 [June 7, 1957], No. 18116/57. Class 65(1). A vertically opening door moves on three pairs of levers, the first pair 2 being pivoted to the door at or about the mid-points of the vertical sides and slidably pivoted on guides 4, the second and third pairs of levers 9, 10 being, pivoted on a common horizontal axis above the door and to the first pair of levers and the upper part of the door respectively. All the levers are located within the width of the door and spring flaps 12 are provided to permit the levers to pass through the plane of the door during its movement. The door is counterbalanced by weights and may be power operated by driving the drums 19. According to the Provisional Specification plates, pivoted to the lintel and the door, in the closed position, cover slots which allow passage of the links during door operation.
