Abstract

851,848. Furnaces. SCHMIDT'SCHE HEISSDAMPF_G.m.b.H. July 22,1959, No. 25111/59. Class 51 (2). A reversible regenerative furnace comprises reversible blowers 7, 9, Fig. 1, in conduits 6, 8 leading to recuperators 5 to effect heat storage or delivery by the recuperators and fresh air blowers 11 positioned between the recuperators and chimneys 10 either to convey fresh air to the chimneys or deliver combustion air to the furnace according to the direction of operation of the furnace. In a modification, the conduits 6, 8 open to portions 14, 15 of a common flue 12 provided by a partition 13 extending towards a single chimney 10 and a single fresh air blower 11 serves both portions of the flue.
