Abstract
850,593. Power plant. KLOCKNER-HUMBOLDT-DEUTZ A.G. Jan. 11, 1957 [June 14, 1956], No. 1194/57. Class 7(2). [Also in Group XXXI] Internal combustion engines 1, 11 driving rail vehicle axles 7, 7<SP>1</SP>, or axle sets having an equal or unequal number of axles, via hydraulic transmissions 2, 21 and reversing-gearings 3, 3<SP>1</SP>, have a coupling 8 between the output shafts of the gearings 3, 31 so that the full vehicle adhesive weight is usable with one engine operative. As shown, the coupling 8 is a cardan shaft, but it may be a disengageable coupling. The gearings 3, 31 drive the axles 7, 71 via cardan shafts 5, 51 and bevel gearing 6, 61. The gearings 3, 31 have neutral positions.
