848,222. Gauging screw-threads. SIEMENS PLANIAWERKE AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT FUR KOHLEFABRIKATE. April 30, 1957 [April 30, 1956], No. 17918/57. Divided out of 848,221. Class 106 (2). [Also in Group XXII] A screw-thread gauge for testing the accuracy of external threads formed on the halves of a double frusto-conical workpiece comprises a lever 18 and two measuring pins 22, 23 slidable in guides 24, 25, each of which is capable of being displaced parallel to the axis of the workpiece, one end of each pin 22, 23 bearing on one arm of a lever 20 rotatably mounted on the lever 18. A dial gauge 30 indicates relative displacement between the guides 24, 25, and hence inaccuracies in the lead or incorrect positioning of the two threads, whilst a second dial gauge 31, mounted on the lever 18, indicates incorrect diameter of the workpiece.
